atacymru, pronounced Patacoomrie, is a nation consisting of the Welsh settlement in Patagonia, Argentina originally founded as an independent "New Wales" community in southern South America in 1865 in what was then unclaimed territory. It was later absorbed into Argentina in 1902 after a failed bid to join the British Empire.

The descendents of those settlers still have a Welsh community in Chubut Province of Argentina. The community's capital is the City of Gaiman. In 2001, Rhodri Morgan, First Minister for Wales, visited the community in order to strengthen cultural ties between Wales and the Patagonian Welsh community.

The community wishes to survive as a distinct identity and even has its own flag which is a red dragon on a white background between two horizontal blue bars. It is now a sovereign micronational state of Patacymru with cultural ties with the remainder of the British world. It has more in common with the British world than with the predominantly Spanish-speaking remainder of Argentina.
